Memorial services for Bob
Scott were held at the Plentywood Lutheran Church on Wednesday,
September 10, 2008 with Pastor Dave Curtright officiating.
Interment of cremated remains followed at the Outlook Highland Cemetery.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of
Plentywood had charge of arrangements.
Robert Arthur
"Bob" Scott was born January 28, 1924 to Palmer and Beulah Scott in a
sod and frame house at the family farm south of the US-Canadian border
on Beaver Creek. After graduating from Outlook High School in 1942, Bob
continued to working on the family farm with his father, Palmer and
brother, George. On December 18, 1946, Bob married June Stewart and
lived in California for a short period of time. Missing Montana
snowfalls, Bob and June returned to Outlook, where Bob devoted his life
to farming and ranching. Bob and June's son Robert J. (Bobby) was born
on July 15, 1948, their daughter Sandra was born on November 22, 1951.
In his early years, Bob served as a member on the Outlook School Board,
the Outlook Fire Board, was a substitute mail carrier and
was a 31 year charter member of the Plentywood Elks Lodge.
Although, Bob served as a director for the Culbertson State Bank
for a short period of time, perhaps his favorite responsibility was that
of being director of the Montana State Bank for nearly 30 years.
While Bob enjoyed getting out of town for short and long journeys,
getting back to town for monthly bank meetings was always a priority for
Bob. Bob was a true Montana farmer. He devoted many years of long days,
planting and harvesting his crops and caring for his livestock. Bob was
part of a generation of farmers who developed lasting friendships and a
life long devotion to one another built from both celebrations and times
of sorrow. He treasured these relationships and will be remembered by
most for his strong opinions, stubborn demeanor, and willingness to help
those in need. Once Bob retired from farming, he could frequently be
found driving along the country side, playing cards with old and new
friends, visiting with people at the bank, or having coffee at a local
restaurant. For years, Bob traveled to Flathead Lake for his annual
"cherry picking" trip. Upon his return, he would sell cherries to his
friends and neighbors and surprised everyone when he continued with this
yearly event despite his declining health. Light hearted banter between
Bob and his friends was a daily occurrence. He would frequently boast
about his Chevy trucks and tease those who were tried and true
Ford fans. Others would be puzzled by Bob's stories of leaving town to
purchase a new vehicle and already have the vehicle resold before
arriving back in Plentywood. Great grandpa Bob would always have
chocolate candy in his shirt pocket for his great grandkids. Huntley and
Haidyn would hop onto Papa Bob's lap and quickly reach their tiny hands
into his pocket for their chocolate treats. Bob would chuckle to himself
when he knew that his candy gesture was ruining their meal time
appetites. After many years of living life to the fullest and on his own
terms, despite years of ongoing heart complications and numerous
emergency heart surgeries, Bob suffered a fatal heart attack on
September 3, 2008.
In addition
to his parents and brother, George and two half brothers, Eldon Lee and
Palmer M. Scott, Bob joins his wife, June, son Bobby, and granddaughter
Debbie in heaven. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra
and Jule Jacobson of Plentywood MT, granddaughter and husband, Tracy and
Chad Hinz of Monticello, MN, granddaughters, Cami Sain of Omaha, NE, and
Allysa Jacobson of Helena, MT, and great-grandchildren, Huntley
and Haidyn Hinz of Monticello, MN. Bob is also leaves behind his
long time friend and companion, Esther Corneliusen of Billings, MT.

September 13, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Plentywood for
David G. Mann. A Vigil Service was conducted Friday evening
at Fulkerson Funeral home in Plentywood. Committal services will
take place at a later date.
David George Mann was born February 6, 1930 in Plentywood to Archie and
Agnes (Biltman) Mann. Neighbors helped David's father to dig
through the snow drifts at the family farm so Agnes could make it to the
Plentywood Hospital with David arriving shortly thereafter.
David graduated from Plentywood High School in 1949 and attended college
at Bozeman, until returning home to take over the family farm in
1950. He married Betty Bykonen on October 20, 1956 in Plentywood.
To this union David & Betty brought into their family fold a little
boy named Shannon and later a little girl named Candase.
David was a devoted member of St. Josephs Catholic church serving
as president of the parish council. David served as Grand
Knight of the Plentywood council of the Knights of Columbus for two

He chaired the Senior Citizens day for three years, was a master

concerts for his favorite groups such as KISS and Ted Nugent.
David's family now is very appreciative of their father's obsession with
video recording every event that occurred with their family. Due
to failing health Betty and David moved to Plentywood in February of

after a short illness.

Memorial services for LeRoy Lodahl were
held on Monday, September 15, 2008. Pastor Ron Martin-Dent officiated at
the service at Plentywood Lutheran Church. A private interment of
cremated remains in Plentywood Cemetery followed the service. On
Wednesday, September 10, 2008, LeRoy, 72, died unexpectedly at his home
in Plentywood from a broken heart. The event occurred 34 days after
losing his wife and soul mate Patricia Lodahl.
Anders LeRoy Lodahl was born on January 24, 1936 in Plentywood. He
graduated from Medicine Lake High School. Lee married Patricia Mae
Geelan at the Nathanael Church in Dagmar on November 24, 1956. They
lived in Great Falls for a short time, after which they moved to
California and then to Michigan while Lee was in military service. After
his discharge, they returned home to Northeast Montana. They lived in
the Dagmar community for about a year before moving to Plentywood, where
they have lived since.
Lee was the owner and operator of Lee’s Westland Station. Lee was a
member of Volunteer Fire Department of Plentywood for several years. He
also enjoyed bowling and was a friend to all, putting others before
himself.
It would be difficult to determine where Lee began and Pat would end as
they journeyed through life as true partners. LeRoy is remembered by his
grandchildren as their ever-loving ‘Papa Lee’ and as a very devoted
father by his children. His dry sense of humor that only the sharpest of
wit could grasp can be recalled when he rang the front doorbell of his
own home with pants in hand
in need of alterations. His story was simple. Since his wife Pat was too
busy as a seamstress-for-hire for the community of Plentywood, he
presented himself as a customer. He had heard she was the best in town!
She obliged him and made the necessary repairs, and of course . . .
charged him!
LeRoy and Pat were devoted members of Plentywood Lutheran Church, where
they served as “assistant custodians” to their daughter, Bonnie.
LeRoy is survived by his two daughters: Bonnie Kanning and her husband
Spencer, of Plentywood and Terrie Iverson and her husband Roland, of
Billings. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Dr. Nicholas
Kanning, of Omaha, Nebraska; Zachary Kanning and his fiancé Stephanie
Thompson, both students at MSU Bozeman; Danielle Iverson, a student at
MSU-Billings, as well as Bryce and Brandon Iverson of Billings. He is
also survived by his sisters Elice Nelson of Plentywood, Vera (Folmer)
Nyby of Michigan City, Indiana, Pearl Kruger of Great Falls, Montana,
and also by his brother Ove Lodahl of Murray, Idaho. Lee is also
survived by numerous nephews and nieces who were very near and dear to
his heart. Lee was preceded in death by his parents Niels and Signe
Lodahl, an infant brother Franklin, and his loving wife of almost 52
years Patricia Mae.
