The Old Car Club would like to thank the following sponsors of our 27th annual show. They are: DeShaw Agency, Rocky Mountain Bank, Montana State Bank, Stockman Bank, Four Winds, Veterans Club, Larry Garrick of NAPA, ACE Hardware, Holtan Auto Body, Charlie Archer Promotions, State Farm, Tande Computing, Hi-Line Sports, Plentywood Sanitation Co., Cassidy's, Farmers Union Oil of Plentywood, Derl Fellon Auto Sales, Curtiss Farm & Auto, Car & Truck Exchange, Performance Signs and Graphics and the Plentywood Chamber of Commerce. We would also like to thank Carol Nielsen and Patti Wagner for the day lunch, Dr. DeBelles for the evening banquet, Harold Robinson for the use of his building for our show headquarters, the Greeter, Sheridan County News, KATQ, KXMD-TV Williston, Northern News Network of Williston for carrying our advertising and the City of Plentywood for allowing us to use Main Street for our show. Also, thank you to anyone I missed.

We had forty-three cars registered at the show this year. A little more than half of last years total. The late seeding season, road construction and other activities took their toll. We still had a very good variety of cars for the public to look at, on a day that was perfect for a car show. The club will now begin to plan for some other activities for the summer, most notably, Perry Stratton's Hot August Night Fall Run. The Old Car Club would like to thank all the people who came out Saturday to look at the cars, encourage you to get into the hobby and hope you have a safe driving summer. See you at the 28th Annual Old Car Club Show on June 7, 2003 in downtown Plentywood.

Roger Schwanz, acting Secretary, read minutes of the previous meeting. Minutes were approved as read.

The treasury report showed a balance of $2,814.13. Dale reported that Greg had resigned asTreasurer and that nominations were open for his replacement. Richard Thompson was the only nominee. He was voted into office unanimously. Dale requested that Bill and Mike help Richard go over the books and see that everything is up to date and in order.

Dale reported on his trip to the Williston car show.

Dale also brought to the club' s attention that a group of students from the high school are in the process of forming a car club and is looking for a shop to work out of.

Next item of business was a discussion on the location of our upcoming show. Charlie moved and Bill seconded a motion to return the show to Main Street as in the past. Motion passed ten to one with one abstention.

The club will be able to use Harold Robinson's building on Main Street as their show headquarters.

Luke's car was confirmed as the 2002 Club Choice car. Dr. De Belle's will be the site of the show banquet. Butch Nielson take care of petty cash for the club. April 16, 2002

The Apri116, 2002 meeting of the Old Car Club of Plentywood was conducted at the Civic Center under the direction of Vice President Larry Pierson. There were nine members and four guests present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by motion made by Greg and seconded by Harley. Motion passed.

The club treasury has $ 3.647.88 on account.

Roger reported on club t-shirt costs and design. His source will cost $ 13.52 per shirt with a picture front and back, on a 50-shirt order. If the club orders a second 50-shirt order, the cost for that order will be $8.90 per shirt. By motion made. seconded and passed, Roger was authorized to order 50 shirts in the sizes of medium. large, x-large and 2x large.

Mike reported on the advertising he has done for the car show. Advertising has been or will be done by poster, Internet, radio, both Plentywood and Williston stations, KXMD- TV of Williston, Sheridan County News and the Greeter. The local Chamber of Commerce has donated $400.00 to help with out of town advertisements.

Jerry brought up a concern of the downtown businesses about the club moving the show off Main Street. The show plan is in place and will not be changed for this show. At the June meeting, the club will review the show and decide where the best spot is for the 2003 show.

Mike moved and Greg seconded a motion that Luke Pattee’s Mustang be the 2002 Club Choice Car and that Jerry Phelps Dodge will be the second choice. Motion carried.

Mike brought to the attention of the club, that a number of students at Plentywood High School are exploring the possibility of forming a high school car club. Larry will meet with Mrs. Thompson and find out more details.

Greg reported that Perry Stratton is planning a cruise night to occur some Saturday in August. Some early plans include a B-Q, contests and a movie. Perry will try to have a poster ready for display at the car show and also be available to visit with out of town clubs about the event. Also, the DQ would possibly like to do a 50's carhop at their restaurant. Could be a more interesting summer for our club for a change.

In the same line of thought, members of the club discussed the possibility of turning the car show into a two and a half or three-day show. Since we have our show on Saturday and the Elk’s club have their Bump N Run on Sunday, we only have to come with some activities to do on Friday afternoon and evening. A cruise night ending up at the Drive-In is one possibility. This idea will be discussed more fully at the June meeting.

Roger reported that the North Dakota Street Rod Assoc. will be holding a summer tour starting in Grand Forks, traveling through Minot, Williston. Dickinson, Bismarck and ending in Fargo. Tour dates are July 24-26. A tour of rod shops is planned for Minot. Roger reported that there are some really nice shops in Minot.

Since no further official club business was on the agenda, Daryl moved and Bill seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion carried.

After meeting was adjourned, Casey and Chad Peterson discussed the idea of a local 1/8 mile drag strip. The proposed site for the track is near the Civic Center heading towards the Old Tractor Club grounds. There would be five events per summer. There will be more details at a future date
